Baloch (the valiant nation)

Baloch is famous nomadic nation known for their warring, intrepid and affectionately loyal and generous characteristics in history whose population is now settled across three countries i.e Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.

Alike other prominent nations, Baloch has their indigenous language, music, fashion, culture, traditions, folklores, history and even the food.

 

Baloch lands

Having settled in extensive area extended among three neighboring countries of South Asia (Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran) it comprehend  variety of fascinating features in its language, dialect, music, instrument, geography, culture, traditions and rituals, food and cuisine, hospitality, bravery, unfaltering intrepidity, folklores, historical accounts and events etc.

As far as geography of Baloch land is concerned the landscape comprises extensive hilly and mountainous ranges, fertile but barren plain lands, arid deserts, fancying oasis, lush green meadows and roaringly overwhelming shores etc.

The geography of area has its effects on baloch people as they are proud, tall, adamant, esteemed in their approach, dealings and habits like their mountains - hard, enthusiastic, agile and stout to their rugged rocky mountainous terrains - affectionate and friendly like their oasis and meadows - loyal and staunch like their plain fertile lands - overwhelming and powerful like their shores.

If someone visits the Baloch land it is quite confirm that the lasting indelible imprints remain in visitor's memory for the rest of his life.

This is because of variety in geography and distinction of culture and commendable behaviors of people. 

Baloch people are proud and ferocious in dealing enemies but they are humble, kindhearted, lovely, affable, joyful, friendly, generous and quite simple and straightforward in terms of dealing with their friends and acquaintances.

Although the land is replete with variety of geographical features and treasures having mineral and marine wealth on enormous scale, the Baloch population is mostly poor in view of economy. 

With such humble living they still maintain their generosity and hospitality, pride and dignity, bravery and intrepidity with great enthusiasm. 

Mineral wealth ranges from gasoline to gold ore, coal and copper to chromite and gypsum with very high stock in world's perspective. 

 

Baloch Music

Baloch people have their own distinct peculiar music with songs on folklores and historical accounts about love and wars. 

Baloch always get amused and spirited in hearing songs on love story of 'Haani and Shahmureed' , 'Bevregh and Grahnaz' and battle between 'Rind and Lashar' (tribes deriving from descendents of two brothers).

 

Baloch Food and Cuisine

One of the most famous foods that mainly constitute the Balochi cuisine is termed Sajji or Sijji in its native language.

It mainly consist of meat simply marinated with salt and black pepper or sometimes with very less spices cooked on fire arranged around it at some distance. 

The meat is stationed with pegs penetrating meat and fixed into ground getting heat from the fire set on wood at some distance around it. 

It takes around two and half hours to leave the meat completely cooked under such arrangement. 

The flavor of sajji or sijji is quite different and has its distinct taste that one cannot find in other kinds of roasted meat. 

It tastes deliciously excellent. Sajji or Sijji is known brand of Balochi people and the origin of its recipe belongs to Baloch.

In addition to it some other dishes historically belongs to Baloch such as Sobat and Kok (bread) which is cooked on hot stone.

Baloch has their distinct indigenous music, folklores and historical records that are so famous and interesting that people are amused of them.

Baloch are known as valiant warriors and meat lovers.
